BG-LL 22B01 is a linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) with a butene-1 comonomer designed especially for high stiffness film applications. This resin has excellent blown film performance, blending performance and lamination performance. It gives various mechanical properties while having additives that improve function and processing.
Properties and Performance of the Resin
Melt Index: 0.8-1.2 g/10 min at 190°C/2.16 kg (ASTM D1238), which suggests moderate flowability suitable for extrusion process of films.
Density: 0.920-0.924 g/cm3 at 23°C (ASTM D1505), making the films very stiff and strong.
F/E Ratio: <30 (ASTM D1238), indicating a fine balance between flowability and elongation ability.
Yellowness Index: 0.5 (ASTM D1925) indicates minimum coloration necessary for clear or neutral film aesthetics required for some applications.
Ti Content: 2 ppm wt suggesting titanium content for possible UV stabilization or pigmentation (MTM 15636).
Fish Eyes Gels/m2: 60 (MTM 17108) evaluates impurities in terms of clarity and quality of the film produced.
Haze: 25% (ASTM D1003) shows level of light diffusion through the film; it is used where some transparency is needed in packaging materials.
Gloss 45°: 35% (MTM 1702) provides good surface sheen which improves visual quality of film produced.
Mechanical Properties
Dart Impact Strength :75g ASTM D1709/A – This test measures puncture resistance under impact conditions
Tensile Modulus :MD =150 MPa ,TD=180MPa “ASTMD882” -Reflecting its rigidity & deformability
Tensile Strength : MD =49MPa ,TD=43MPa (ASTM D882) This is the maximum stress film can tolerate before breaking.
Elongation at Break: 800% MD and 900% TD(ASTM D882) – Indicates how much a film can stretch before it breaks
Elmendorf Tear: -MD=120g, TD=400g (ASTM D1922) -This test is used to determine resistance against tear propagation which is important for packaging durability.
Applications and Additives
High Stiffness Blown Film: Used to produce films having high tensile strength and rigidity.
Blending: Can be blended with other polymers in order to achieve specific properties required for given applications.
Lamination: Suitable for use in processes such as lamination where multilayer structures need to be created with improved barrier properties.
Additives:
Acid Scavenger: Protects the polymer from degradation caused by acidic conditions.
Antioxidants: Ensures that oxidation does not occur during processing thus extending life span of material being processed through this stage or added at later stages.
Anti-block and Slip Agent- These are available upon request of customer so as to improve handling characteristics during fabrication process within industrial setting including storage facilities etcetera where such materials may come into contact with one another causing them stick together making transportation difficult thereby leading loss time due working conditions.
Lubricant and Processing Aid– It helps in improving extrusion process and quality final product.BG-LL 22B01 has been designed keeping in mind the demanding requirements set forth by modern films; hence providing manufacturers with reliable high-performance materials which offer excellent processability, mechanical strength as well optical clarity.
