LFI2125A is a specific low-density polyethylene (LDPE) designed for use in blown film extrusion. This grade is filled with anti-block and slip agent (Erucamide) at high amounts which improve its optical properties, reduce energy consumption during processing as well as provide effective drawdown capability. The product is used to make general purpose LDPE film packaging for food and industrial goods, and also suitable for general lamination films. Moreover this product can be applied where films need to be down-gauged to their minimum thicknesses.
Features And Uses
Best In Optical Properties: LFI2125A offers superior clarity and brightness thus can be used in applications requiring visual quality of packaging materials.
Higher Processing Efficiency: It has a melt flow index (MFI) of 2.5 dg/min making it easy to process with low energy requirement during processing stages coupled with excellent drawdown that makes it suitable for thin film applications.
Applications
General Purpose LDPE Film Packaging: Used in food packaging where cleanliness and clarity are necessary like bags & wraps etc.
Industrial Goods Packaging : Designed For durability purposes especially when packaging items that require being torn apart easily or have resistance against tears occurring frequently .
Laminations Films : These are multi-layered films used widely across many industries due their mechanical strength among other reasons.
Physical Properties:
Density; 921 Kg/m3 (a balance between strength & flexibility)
Mechanical Properties
Impact Strength ;23 KJ/m (resistance to sudden impacts)
Tear Strength ;25 KN/m transverse direction & 70KN/m machine direction(Excellent tear resistance).
Yield Stress ;11 Mpa transverse direction & 13Mpa machine direction(deformation under stress resistant).
Tensile Stress At Break ;19 Mpa transverse direction & 30Mpa machine direction(strong tensile properties).
Strain At Break ;500% transverse direction & 100% machine direction(flexibility)
Optical Properties
-Haze; 9%(transparency of the film)-Gloss:60% at 45 degrees(angle) (shiny surface)
Clarity:30 mV(clear visibility through the film)
Processing Conditions And Recommendations
Extruder Temperature :160-180°C is necessary for optimizing resin properties during film production.
Frost Line Height :5-7 times die diameter(controls thickness and other properties of the produced films).
Blow Up Ratio (BUR):2 to 3 is recommended to ensure optimum mechanical properties are achieved.
Recommended Film Thickness :20-50 μm(micrometers), this range makes it possible for packaging products with different needs.
Packaging, Storage And Compliance
Packaging: Supplied as pellets in 25kg bags, one ton semi bulk or 17 tons bulk containers.
Food Packaging Compliance: Meets EC Directive for food contact applications among other critical regulations which ensures safety and suitability for food use.
Storage Recommendations: Should be stored in dry dust free environment away from direct sunlight and heat with ambient temperature not exceeding 50°C.
LFI2125A was created keeping up with tough requirements presented by modern day extrusions thus giving manufacturers an all rounder high performing product that suits most packaging solutions.
