 LDPE LFI 2185

LFI2185 is a kind of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) which has good toughness and biaxial shrinkage. It can be used for the production of thin shrink films and various types of packaging films and bags. This product is designed to increase production efficiency with such features as low energy consumption, strong melt strength, excellent draw-down capability etc., so that high quality film can be produced without slip and anti-block additives.

Features and Applications

Good Toughness and Biaxial Shrink Properties: LFI2185 performs well in applications requiring both longitudinal and transverse shrinkage (biaxial), which is necessary for products like shrink wraps or packages that conform tightly around the shape of an item.

Energy Efficiency: The grade reduces processing power demands thus making it friendly to the environment while economically viable in terms of film manufacture.

Applications: LFI2185 works effectively in:

Blown Film Extrusion: Applicable where very thin films are needed for wrapping goods during storage or transportation.

Shrink Films: Suitable for products that require close sealing and fitting around them after being heated up or exposed to certain conditions.

Packaging Films & Bags: Used mainly in producing general purpose packagings for foodstuff packing as well as industrial commodities wrapping purposes.

Technical Specifications

Melt Flow Index (MFI): 0.85 dg/min at 190°C/2.16 Kg shows how well material flows when heated up; therefore suitable for extruding films

Density: 921 Kg/m3 gives structural strength combined with flexibility required by different applications within this industry sector

Mechanical Properties:

Impact Strength: 28 KJ/m shows ability to resist mechanical shocks

Tear Strength: 30 KN/m TD & 40 KN/m MD means it resists tearing very well.

Yield Stress: 11 MPa TD /12 MPa MD - material starts deforming under those stresses levels

Tensile Stress at Break: 21 MPa TD / 24 MPa MD - material breaks after such stress has been applied.

Strain at Break: More than 500% TD & over 200% MD i.e. elastic behaviour is exhibited by the product.

Optical Properties:

Haze: 9% ensures see-through quality of film suitable for many different uses

Gloss: 60% @45° angle contributes to visual attractiveness of finished article.

Clarity: 27 mV measures how much light can pass through without being scattered around inside thus allowing clear visualization.

Processing and Packaging

Recommended Processing Conditions include maintaining extruder temperatures between 175-190°C, frost line height should be kept at 5-7 times die diameter, blow up ratio (BUR) of 2-4 will give desired thickness ranging from 45μm to100μm.

Packaging: The resin comes in pellets packaged either in a one ton semi-bulk container or a seventeen ton bulk container for large scale productions. It can also be supplied as individual twenty five kilogram bags if necessary.

Compliance and Safety

Regulatory Compliance entails meeting strict requirements particularly those related with food packaging or pharmaceutical applications thus ensuring international safety standards are followed throughout its use in these areas.

Storage & Handling recommendations involve storing away from direct sunlight and heat sources; keeping dry and dust free environment with temperatures not exceeding fifty degrees Celsius (50°C) so as to maintain good quality of resin over time; six months' time limit given from delivery date before processing starts due excessive aging effects on this material type.

LFI2185 presents manufacturers an advanced LDPE solution that works well when strong, responsible environmental practices need to be observed alongside efficiency considerations within higher level film applications.
