LDPE LFI 2130 is a type of polyethylene that has a high molecular weight and low density, which allows it to create tough packaging films like shrink hoods, heavy-duty industrial sacks, carrier bags, and liners. This grade does not contain any slip agent or antiblock additives so as to maximize its strength, toughness as well as biaxial shrink properties thereby making it suitable for applications where durable film solutions are needed. LDPE LFI 2130 is made through SABTEC licensed technology which ensures quality and consistency.
Main Features
High Molecular Weight: Increases the robustness and impact resistance of the polymer hence can be applied in heavy duty activities.
Good Toughness and Strength: It makes the material long lasting by giving it tear and puncture resistance which are essential in protective packages.
Very Good Draw Down Ability: This characteristic enables one to manufacture thinner films without compromising on their strength thus ideal for cost effective production methods.
Biaxial Shrink Properties: These enable tight wrapping around items since they allow both machine direction (MD) and transverse direction (TD) shrinking of the substance.
LDPE LFI 2130 is mainly used in:
Blown Film Extrusion: It is good for producing films with exceptional mechanical properties.
Heavy Duty Packaging Film: This creates packages that can withstand rough handling during shipping or storage.
Shrink Hoods: Used where films should adhere tightly to contours of packaged goods such as palletized loads.
Industrial Sacks: Suitable for making very strong bags used in industries for carrying heavy materials over long distances without tearing apart easily due to weight pressure exerted on them by their contents .
Carrier Bags and Liners: Ideal when looking for reliable everyday packaging solutions offering protection against different environmental factors like dust, dirt etc..
Typical Properties
Melt Flow Index (MFI): 0.3 dg/min at 190°C/2.16 Kg – indicates low flow rate which enhances film strength and barrier properties.
Density: 921 kg/m³ – provides a good balance between strength and flexibility.
Mechanical Properties
Impact Strength: 31 kJ/m – shows that the material can absorb shocks without breaking or tearing easily.
Tear Strength: 45 kN/m (TD) & 20 kN/m (MD) – indicates high resistance against tearing along these particular directions .
Yield Stress: 10 MPa (TD) & 11 MPa (MD) – represents deformability under given stress levels where deformation starts taking place within certain limits set by this value .
Tensile Stress at Break: 24 MPa (TD) & 22 MPa (MD) – shows ability of substance to withstand before it breaks when subjected to tensile forces acting upon from opposite sides in two different planes perpendicular each other across width lengthwise respectively i.e., same as above but now referring to maximum amount of stress reached during testing before rupture occurs at weakest point(s).
Strain at Break : >500% (TD); >350% (MD) - demonstrates the significant elasticity of the material
Modulus of Elasticity:150MPa(TD);140MPa(MD)-highlights how stiff or rigid is the material
Optical Properties
Haze:12% - ensures sufficient transparency for packaging visibility.
Gloss:55 GU @45°-provides a visually appealing shiny surface finish.
Clarity :50 mV- indicates high level of clear visibility through the film
Processing Guidelines
Extruder Temperature Profile: Recommended between 185-210°C for optimal extrusion characteristics of resins during extruding process.
Blow Up Ratio(BUR): Suggested between 2 and 4, so as to maintain mechanical properties and control thickness uniformity throughout entire film fabrication process.
Film Thickness: Ideally designed for producing films ranging from 45 to 150 μm in thickness in order to accommodate different packaging needs or requirements.
Storage and Safety
Storage Conditions: It should be kept under dry, dust free conditions away from direct sunlight and heat with temperatures not exceeding 50°C so as to prevent degradation.
Handling Safety :The resin should be handled carefully to avoid exposure to molten material and fumes which can cause irritation or harm.
LDPE LFI 2130 has been developed to satisfy the most demanding specifications of current industrial packaging thus offering manufacturers a reliable high performance material that provides excellent processability, mechanical strength as well as visual appeal.
