LDPE LEC 1969

LEC 1969 is an Iranian low-density polyethylene (LDPE) grade that was created for extrusion coating applications as the first commercially successful tubular LDPE grade in Iran. This product is designed for general use within the extrusion coating sector, capable of withstanding both slow and very fast line speeds thereby enhancing its adaptability across many industrial fields.

Product Description

LEC 1969 has been formulated to offer excellent draw down capability, good edge stability and minimal neck-in; all which are necessary requirements for efficient and high-quality coatings. It is known to produce very thin layers of coating on substrates due to its high adhesion performance. The LDPE is delivered in pellet form making it easy to handle and process.

Applications

This grade can be used for a variety of coating applications including:

Extrusion Coating and Laminating: Suitable for multi-layer packaging films production.

Flexible Packaging: Can be utilized in different designs of flexible packages.

Paper & Cardboard Coating: Appropriate for paper & cardboard products’ coating.

Aluminum Foil Coating: Effective in aluminum foil coating processes.

Features

Excellent Melt Stability: Ensures uniform performance even at higher speeds.

Melt Drawing Robustness: Allows for thin layers without compromising material integrity.

Compatibility With High Speed Production Lines: Optimized for greater than 300 meters per minute operations.

Low Neck-In: Reduces waste material and improves uniformity of coverage over substrates.

Physical & Mechanical Properties

Melt Flow Index (MFI): 6.9 dg/min at 190°C/2.16 kg, this reflects how it flows when heated up.

Density: 919 kg/m³- determines film thickness and strength/resistance to rupture under stress or strain;

Stress at Yield: 11 MPa - the level of stress before starting deformation;

Stress at Breakage Point: 12 MPa – showing ultimate tensile strength;

Strain at Break: >600%- demonstrating good elasticity along with flexibility;

Tensile Modulus: 160 MPa- stiffness and resistance to elastic deformation.

Thermal Properties

Vicat Softening Temperature: 85°C - material starts softening here;

Melting Point: 107°C – processing limits are understood from this.

Recommended Process Conditions

Extruder Temperature Profile: 200 to 320°C range.

Melt Temperature at T-Die: 320°C, best coating result achieved by this temperature.

Health & Safety Information

Manufactured according to strict health standards, LEC 1969 requires specific handling especially when used for food contact or direct medical applications. Adequate ventilation should be provided along with other necessary protective measures against exposure risks arising from molten polymers/fumes emissions.

Storage Recommendations

Keep away from sunlight and heat sources; store in dry dust-free environment. Process within four months of delivery date in order to prevent quality loss.
