HDPE HFI 5110

HDPE HFI 5110 is a high molecular weight, high-density polyethylene designed for thin film applications. This grade offers excellent strength and rigidity, which makes it ideal for manufacturing high-strength grocery sacks, shopping bags, and high-quality thin films used in uni/multi-wall packaging. The films produced are suitable for high-quality graphic treatments and printing.

Typical Properties

  • High Load Melt Flow Index (HLMI): 10 g/10 min at 190°C under a 21.6 kg load (ISO 1133), indicating good processability for blown film applications.
  • Density: 0.951 g/cm³, providing structural integrity and strength (ISO 1183).

 

Mechanical Properties

  • Tensile Modulus of Elasticity: 1050 MPa, indicating high stiffness and resistance to deformation (ISO 527-1,2).
  • Tensile Strength (MD and TD): 55 MPa, showing the material's ability to withstand stress without breaking (ISO 527-1,3).
  • Tensile Strain at Break (MD and TD): 580% and 620%, respectively, demonstrating superior durability and flexibility (ISO 527-1,3).
  • Tensile Stress at Yield: 26 MPa, showcasing the material's load-bearing capacity before deformation (ISO 527-1,3).
  • Tensile Strain at Yield: 10%, offering some flexibility under tensile loads (ISO 527-1,3).

 

Impact and Tear Properties

  • Elmendorf Tear Strength (MD and TD): 250 mN and 800 mN, respectively, indicating resistance to tearing in multiple directions (ISO 6383-2).

 

Thermal Properties

  • Melting Temperature: 132°C, suitable for processes involving high temperatures (ISO 3146).
  • Vicat Softening Temperature: 127°C, the temperature at which the polymer begins to soften under a specified load (ISO 306).

 

Recommended Processing Conditions

  • Extruder Temperature Profile: 200-235°C
  • Blow-Up Ratio: 3-5
  • Film Thickness: 15-50 μm
