HDPE HBM 5510

HBM 5510 is a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) designed for large parts blow molding. This grade is notable for its high stiffness, excellent processability, strong parison melt strength, and good environmental stress cracking resistance (ESCR). It is particularly suited for creating large containers such as jerry cans and open-top drums.

  • Density: 0.955 g/cm³, providing high structural strength (ISO 1183).
  • Bulk Density: Over 0.50 g/cm³, facilitating storage and handling (ISO 60).

  • Tensile Modulus of Elasticity: 1000 MPa, indicating high stiffness (ISO 527-1,2).
  • Flexural Modulus: 1000 MPa, further confirming the material's rigidity (ASTM D790).
  • Tensile Stress at Yield: 27 MPa, showcasing the material's strength under tension (ISO 527-1,2).

  • Recommended Processing Conditions:
    • Extruder Barrel Temperature: 180-220°C
    • Melt Temperature: 200-235°C
